Policy Analyst/Researcher
The Role
The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario is seeking a Policy Analyst/Researcher to provide research and analytical policy support to assist the College in meeting its strategic goals and tactics, including a major review of its Standards and Guidelines.
The College is the body that regulates the physiotherapy profession and protects patients’ rights to safe, competent and ethical care by supporting physiotherapists to maintain standards of practice and by holding them accountable for their conduct and practice.
This role is a one-year contract position.
The Policy Analyst/Researcher will report directly to the Associate Registrar, Policy and will be responsible for leading or participating in policy development research, assignments and projects in association with other organizational project leads.
The Policy Analyst/Researcher will research, study and interpret current environmental trends, feedback from stakeholders and regulatory obligations to develop policy advice and proposed policy positions to help the College in fulfilling its regulatory mandate and goals.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and job experience in public policy, health policy, regulatory policy, public administration or a related field. Relevant research and analysis experience is desirable.
The successful candidate will have strong written and oral communications skills, good attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, timely and accurate results. Experience and interest in issues relating to the regulation of professions and obtaining and assessing feedback from organizational stakeholders is key. In addition, the ability to work with cross-functional teams and be responsive to changing priorities is important.
