Within the initial six month period, registrants have two opportunities to successfully complete the module. Two more opportunities are provided after registrants complete a mandatory workshop delivered by the College. Will I receive any feedback on my results?
Once a physiotherapist completes all of the questions and submits the module electronically, immediate feedback will indicate whether the module was completed successfully, and provide more specific information about each content domain. All eleven content domains will be listed indicating how many questions were in each category and how many questions the registrant answered correctly in that category. Registrants will then receive an indication of which questions were correct and which ones were not correct. What happens if I cannot successfully complete the module?
If after the first two attempts within the required six-month period a registrant is unsuccessful, he or she will be required to attend a mandatory workshop. After the workshop he or she can complete the same module two more times. If the final attempts are unsuccessful, the registrant will be referred to the Quality Management Committee to complete the onsite assessment.I understand that the scenarios are based on a variety of practice settings. How can I be expected to answer questions about a practice setting that I do not work in?
Although a question is based in a certain practice setting, in the majority of the questions the setting is not relevant. Registrants need to identify the standards or rules involved in the scenario and examine the issue thoroughly. Most issues will have the same answer regardless of the practice setting outlined in the scenario. Can I complete the module if I am holding an Inactive certificate of registration?
Registrants holding an Inactive certificate of registration are welcome to complete the program if they would like to do so. These individuals are asked to notify the Entry to Practice team. What is the standard that must be met to successfully complete the module & how was it developed?
The score for successful completion of a module is developed by using a highly recognized method known as the modified Angoff. Each question in the item bank is given a difficulty rating by content experts. These difficulty ratings are compiled to calculate the final cut score. This set standard is then used to determine each individual's successful completion. Each year the College will create a new version of the module to accommodate new registrants. With each new version of the module a new cut score is set dependent on the degree of difficulty of the questions included in that version. In the current administration of the module, 34 of the 50 questions must be answered correctly to successfully complete the module.
