Shari Hughes Named Interim Registrar

It has been announced that Shari Hughes will serve as the College's Interim Registrar until the recruitment process for a permanent Registrar is completed. Shari's appointment was endorsed by Council at its December 2011 meeting.

Shari joined the College in 2006 and her permanent role is that of Associate Registrar, Practice. In this role, she oversees the areas of Registration, Quality Assurance and Practice Advice.

Before joining the College, Shari was active in many areas of physiotherapy practice, research and clinical education. She practiced clinically in the area of neurotrauma for more than 15 years.

Council is confident in Shari's ability to fulfill this important leadership role during this period of transition.

January 20, 2012 is Jan Robinson's final day as Registrar of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. The College wishes her all the best as she moves to her new role as Registrar of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
