2012 Award of Research Advancing Quality Care Form
The Award of Distinction
The Award of Distinction recognizes the significant contributions and achievements of a physiotherapist in meeting the College mandate to protect the public interest through excellence in practice.
Council accepts nominations annually from the physiotherapy community. Selection criteria focuses on outstanding contributions to both the profession and the broader community in Ontario, as well as accomplishment in health related volunteer and professional activities such as:
- Clinical research and practice
- Evidence-based practice
- Professional publication
- Public advocacy
- Education
- The advancement of knowledge
Nominees must be registered and in good standing with the College.
The Award for Research Advancing Quality Care
The Award for Research Advancing Quality Care recognizes the importance of evidence-based practice in physiotherapy to safe, quality service delivery to Ontarians.
In keeping with Council's mission and strategy, this award is intended to recognize clinically-based physiotherapists/physical therapists who are involved in research focused on improving the quality and safety of point of care physiotherapy/physical therapy within various models of delivery. Applications must demonstrate an opportunity for dissemination of the research contents to a broader audience, either by conference, publication or some other related media.
This $5,000 award acknowledges the recipient's professional investment of time and resources into advancing the profession's competence related to safe, quality care, and is aimed at encouraging continued involvement and contribution.
Nominations for the 2012 awards will be accepted in January 2012.
Council will consider potential award recipients solely on the basis of the information submitted with the application. While applicants are not required to fully complete all sections of the application form, incomplete information may limit the Council's ability to adequately assess the applicant for the awards.
