Bridging Program for Internationally Educated Physiotherapists

In partnership with the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators, Ryerson University, and the Ontario physiotherapy academic programs, the College is involved in the development of a bridging program for internationally educated physiotherapists. The program will assist interested physiotherapists in preparing to become a registered physiotherapist in Ontario.

Courses will include:
  • language training specific to the physiotherapist field;
  • the Canadian health care and regulatory system;
  • Provision of clinical competencies;
  • Professional communication in physiotherapy practice;
  • Principles of patient-centred care;
  • Cultural practices; and
  • Exam skills preparation.

The program is currently under development and the pilot program is scheduled to begin in January 2009.
