Academic Practice
Academic Practice is a registration category designed for individuals that have an appointment to the academic staff of a university in Ontario in a physiotherapy program.
Requirements
- The applicant must have a degree in physiotherapy.
- The applicant must have an appointment to the academic staff of a physiotherapy program at an Ontario university.
- If the applicant intends to provide patient care within the role of the academic appointment, he or she must hold professional liability insurance that meets the requirements laid out in the College By-laws.
Terms, Conditions and Limitations
- The certificate holder may only practise physiotherapy in the department in which he or she holds the appointment and to the extent required by the teaching, research and service requirements of the appointment.
- The certificate terminates when the holder no longer holds an academic appointment that meets the certificate requirements.
- Registrants are required to complete the Jurisprudence Education Program successfully at the next available opportunity after initial registration or reinstatement of registration and every five years after.
