Registration Categories
There are three categories of registration for practising physiotherapists. Follow the links for an overview of each registration category, a description of the requirements to gain the certificate, the terms, conditions, and limitations of the certificate, and the titles that those certificate holders are eligible to use. Links to application forms and information sheets are provided for each category.

Applications for registration in the Independent Practice and Provisional Practice category must include the Application for Registration form AND the Category-specific form(s).

All Categories
- The applicant's past and present conduct affords reasonable grounds for belief that the applicant is mentally competent to practise physiotherapy, that they will practise physiotherapy with decency, integrity and honesty and in accordance with the law and can communicate effectively with and will display an appropriate attitude towards patients and colleagues.
- The applicant must have Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or authorization under the Immigration Act (Canada). (Not applicable to Courtesy)
- The applicant must be able to speak and write English or French fluently. (Not applicable to Courtesy)
Terms, Conditions, and Limitations
- A certificate of registration will expire if the holder no longer has Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or an authorization under the Immigration Act. (Not applicable to Courtesy)
