Legislation and Regulation
The regulation of physiotherapists in Ontario is defined by the Physiotherapy Act and the Regulated Health Professional Act. Specific acts of professional misconduct are defined in the College’s Professional Misconduct Regulation. The processes associated with discipline and fitness to practice hearings are defined in the Health Professions Procedural Code, Schedule 2 of the Regulated Health Professions Act, additional information related to hearings can also be found in the Statutory Powers and Procedures Act.
