College Elections
Get Involved - Make a Difference
What is the Significance?
The College, positioned as a leader in the regulatory community, seeks physiotherapists committed to contributing to the strategic work of shaping health policy in Ontario and promoting safe, quality physiotherapy care. Councillors bring their voice to decisions made on behalf of the profession, and in alignment with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, to benefit the public. What is the Council?
The Council of the College is its Board of Directors, the “steward” of physiotherapy regulation, and it sets the direction for all policy work. All Councillors bring their varied backgrounds and experience. Councillors do not represent their electoral district, but they do represent the profession's regulatory responsibility as a whole. What is involved?
Councillors attend two-day Council meetings quarterly and Councillors are expected to serve on at least one College committee. Councillors are compensated for their time and expenses at levels commensurate with their volunteer role.A Rewarding Experience
