College Election Results 2010
Please join me in celebrating the results of our recent College Council elections. On behalf of Council and Staff, it is my pleasure to announce the successful candidates. They are:
John Spirou - Re-Elected
District 1 – South Western
Peter Ruttan - Re-Elected
District 2 – Central Western
This will be John and Peter’s second term each on Council and we are grateful for their past work and for the continuity and stability their knowledge and dedication will bring to Council.
Our thanks and recognition also go to candidates Jennifer Jackson and Dafna Bener. Although unsuccessful in their bids for Council election, each had an excellent showing and demonstrated a strong commitment to the College and professional self-regulation.
Council is the College's governing body or board of directors. In addition to two academic representatives and seven members of the public appointed by the Government of Ontario, Council is composed of eight elected physiotherapists (PTs) from regions across the province. Council members are responsible for setting the direction for the College and for making decisions that best serve the public interest which improve the quality of physiotherapists' care for Ontarians.
Thanks goes to all those who participated in the election process including all nominees, nominators, returning officers and you, the voters.
