Ontario Recruiting Health Care Workers to Help Fight COVID-19

Physiotherapists: Help Fight COVID-19

The Ontario government is taking further action to stop the spread of COVID-19 by actively recruiting health care workers, such as physiotherapists, to increase the frontline capacity of hospitals, clinics, and assessment centres.

To help recruit health care workers as efficiently as possible, the province has launched an online tool that will help match skilled frontline workers with employers.

Who is Eligible

The government is looking for experienced health care providers who:

  • Are working part-time and are able and want to increase their work hours
  • Are retired
  • Are currently inactive with their regulatory college

Individuals Who Want to Help

If you are a health professional or have experience in fields that support the healthcare system and would like to volunteer time to alleviate the strain put on healthcare systems by the current COVID-19 outbreak, please register below. If you have already registered, please log in to your account to update your availability.

Institutions in Need of Resources

If you are a representative of a healthcare facility located in Ontario and would like to request help and be matched with available resources for additional worker support, please register below. If you already have an account, log in to post a request or modify your information.

How to Register

Employers and interested health care professionals can visit the portal and create a profile. Once registered, professionals can add their availability and employers can enter their request for support. Registrants will receive an email notification if they are matched.

Before you begin: The Ontario Government has alerted all colleges to an issue where the Portal will not accept registration numbers. The Ontario Government is working on a fix for this. In the meantime, please select "Other Health Professionals", not "Regulated Health Professionals". Once logged in, you will be able to update your registration number.
